Federal judge pauses CMS marketplace integrity rule

A federal district court judge issued a preliminary injunction pausing the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services marketplace integrity rule, which had imposed stricter enrollment verification requirements for ACA subsidies. Health insurance brokers and navigator organizations had sued, arguing the rule would disenroll hundreds of thousands of eligible enrollees. The pause affected 14 states using the federal marketplace.
