DOJ moves to toss seditious conspiracy convictions of Proud Boys and Oath Keepers

The Justice Department asks a federal appeals court to throw out the seditious conspiracy convictions of 12 members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who helped plan the January 6 attack. The motion includes convictions for Enrique Tarrio, Stewart Rhodes, and other leaders. The request comes after Trump commuted their prison sentences in January 2025. The filing seeks to vacate the convictions so the government can permanently dismiss the indictments.
