UN rights chief calls US boat strikes extrajudicial killings

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said on Oct. 31, 2025 that the U.S. boat strikes were unacceptable and that Washington must halt them to prevent extrajudicial killing. A group of UN experts had already called the killings extrajudicial executions that breach international law. The condemnation added international pressure as the death toll passed 60. The U.S. rejected the criticism and continued the strikes.
