China Coast Guard Entered Japan's Waters 357 Days in 2025 After PM Linked Taiwan to Japan's Defense

Chinese coast guard ships entered waters around the Japan-administered Senkaku Islands on Nov. 16–17, 2025—less than 10 days after Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi warned that Japan would use military force if China attacked Taiwan. China sent coast guard vessels into the contiguous zone on a record 357 days in 2025 (most since tracking began in 2008), including a 335-day uninterrupted presence ending Oct. 19, 2025.
