White House announces Regeneron drug pricing deal as first MFN agreement

The White House announces on approximately April 23, 2026, that Regeneron Pharmaceuticals has signed a most-favored-nation pricing agreement under Trump's April 2 executive order imposing 100 percent tariffs on patented pharmaceutical imports. Under the deal, Regeneron will align its U.S. drug prices to the lowest price it charges in any other developed country, exempting its products from the 100 percent tariff rate. Regeneron makes Eylea (aflibercept) for macular degeneration and Dupixent (dupilumab) for asthma and eczema — among the most prescribed brand-name drugs in the U.S. The MFN pricing mechanism directly targets the gap between what Americans pay for brand-name drugs and what other countries pay, a gap that has persisted despite previous legislative attempts including the Inflation Reduction Act's more limited negotiation provisions.
