Bessent begins finance career at Brown Brothers Harriman

After graduating Yale, Bessent enters finance at Brown Brothers Harriman, one of the oldest private banks in the United States. He subsequently joins The Olayan Group, a Saudi family office, reporting directly to Hutham Olayan, before working at Kynikos Associates under short-seller Jim Chanos. These early roles shape his cross-asset and global perspective before his two decades at Soros Fund Management.
