DOJ releases 3.5 million Epstein files but withholds approximately 2.5 million pages, drawing immediate congressional rebuke
The Department of Justice released approximately 3.5 million pages of Epstein investigative materials, fulfilling part of its statutory obligation under the Epstein Disclosure Act. However, DOJ simultaneously notified Congress that roughly 2.5 million additional pages — out of an estimated 6 million total — were being withheld pending further review. Attorney General Pam Bondi cited ongoing law enforcement sensitivities and privacy concerns. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer immediately announced a hearing.
