Nepal PM Oli resigns after Gen-Z protests as interim government is sworn in

Nepalese Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli resigned on September 9, 2025 following weeks of youth-led protests organized partly through Discord and other social media platforms that paralyzed Kathmandu and other cities. Protesters demanded government accountability and anti-corruption reforms. Nepal's President subsequently swore in former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as interim Prime Minister pending new elections.
