Federal courts block Biden immigration enforcement priorities

Throughout 2021-2022, Republican-led states led by Texas win federal court injunctions blocking Biden DHS's September 2021 guidance prioritizing deportation of threats to national security, public safety, and recent border crossers, rather than deporting all undocumented immigrants regardless of history. Texas District Court Judge Drew Tipton issues a nationwide injunction in December 2021 blocking the policy. The 5th Circuit upholds it.
