IRS contractor Littlejohn pleads guilty to stealing and leaking Trump's tax records
Charles Littlejohn pleaded guilty in federal court in October 2023 to one count of unauthorized disclosure of tax return information, admitting he stole tax records from Donald Trump and approximately 405,000 other individuals and provided them to The New York Times and ProPublica between 2018 and 2020. Littlejohn told the court he acted out of a sincere, if misguided, belief that he served the public interest. Federal Judge Ana Reyes set sentencing for January 2024 and warned that the case was perhaps the biggest heist in tax data history.
