Cassidy Hutchinson Testifies Trump Lunged at Secret Service Agent, Wanted to March to Capitol

White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson delivered the most consequential testimony of the Jan. 6 committee hearings, testifying under oath that Trump grabbed the steering wheel of his presidential SUV and lunged at a Secret Service agent when told he could not go to the Capitol. She also testified that Trump knew the crowd was armed and demanded that magnetometers be removed so more people could enter the Ellipse rally. Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, she said, told her that Trump "doesn't want to do anything" to stop the attack while it was underway. The committee said her testimony directly contradicted claims that Trump was a passive bystander.
