ICE and Border Patrol Arrest Over 250 in Charlotte "Operation Charlotte's Web"
A federal immigration operation dubbed Operation Charlotte's Web, launched November 15, resulted in more than 250 arrests across Charlotte and the Raleigh area within days — ultimately surpassing 425 arrests by early December. The operation created a chilling effect in immigrant neighborhoods: school attendance dropped sharply, small shops and restaurants closed, and businesses shuttered after ICE confrontations outside storefronts. DHS cited criminal histories among those arrested.
