DOJ Settlement Bars Landlords from Using RealPage Software to Coordinate Rents
The DOJ filed a proposed consent decree requiring RealPage to stop sharing competing landlords' nonpublic tenant data for rent recommendations. Under the settlement, algorithmic pricing models must use only data at least one year old or from the landlord's own properties. A court-appointed monitor will oversee compliance for seven years. No financial penalty or admission of wrongdoing was included.
