ODNI Releases Assessment of Russian 2016 Election Interference

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence released the unclassified Intelligence Community Assessment 'Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections.' The CIA, FBI, and NSA concluded with high confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 to undermine the U.S. democratic process and help Donald Trump. The report cemented election infrastructure as a federal cybersecurity priority and led DHS to designate election systems as critical infrastructure.
