Oklahoma House passes immigration-linked welfare reporting bills

The Oklahoma House votes 80-18 on Feb. 26 to pass House Bill 4423, part of the SECURE Act package introduced by House Speaker Kyle Hilbert. The bills require state agencies to use the federal SAVE database to verify immigration status of applicants for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid, and mandate reporting of unverifiable individuals to the Oklahoma Attorney General.
