Cruz and Hawley lead Senate objections to electoral votes

On Jan. 6, 2021, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) becomes the first senator to announce he will object to electoral votes. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) leads the objection to Arizona's electoral votes. Hawley raises a fist in solidarity with protesters outside the Capitol before the attack. Both senators object to Pennsylvania's votes after the Capitol is breached.
