Trump Eliminates ACA Coverage for DACA Recipients and Cuts Enrollment Period
The Trump administration finalized a rule removing Dreamers from Affordable Care Act marketplace eligibility and shortened the annual open enrollment period by six weeks. DACA recipients had gained ACA access under a 2024 Biden administration rule. The enrollment period cut was projected to reduce sign-ups by an estimated 300,000 people by limiting the window during which uninsured Americans can obtain coverage.
