Idaho Law Criminalizes Helping Minors Cross State Lines for Abortion

Idaho enacted a law making it a felony for any adult to help a pregnant minor travel across state lines to obtain an abortion without parental consent, even in states where abortion is legal. The law imposed penalties of two to five years in prison and applied to parents, friends, clergy, and medical providers who facilitate such travel. Idaho became one of the first states to criminalize interstate travel for reproductive healthcare, creating a direct conflict with federal freedom of movement protections.
