Joshua Jahn fires from rooftop into Dallas ICE detention facility killing two detained immigrants
On September 24, 2025, Joshua Jahn, 29, fires from the rooftop of an attorney's office building across the street from an ICE detention facility near Love Field in Dallas, Texas, shooting three detained immigrants through windows. Jahn shoots himself and is found dead at the scene. Two detainees die: Norlan Guzman-Fuentes from El Salvador, who dies on September 24, and Miguel Ángel García-Hernández from Mexico, who dies on September 30. A third detainee is critically wounded. Shell casings recovered at the scene contain anti-ICE messages. The FBI investigates the attack as a "targeted attack" on the ICE facility. Court records later document that Jahn engaged in significant pre-attack planning. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem issues a statement condemning the attack. The Dallas shooting is the second major attack on a federal immigration facility since the Trump administration began its mass deportation campaign in January 2025, and comes amid a documented pattern of increasing anti-government violence as ICE enforcement intensity rises.
