Supreme Court unanimously orders the government to facilitate Abrego Garcia's return

The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 on April 10, 2025, that the Trump administration must facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador, affirming the district court order that the government had appealed. The per curiam opinion held that the lower court properly required the government to facilitate his release from CECOT custody and ensure his case was handled as it would have been had he not been wrongly deported. The Court also directed the administration to disclose what steps it had taken and planned to take toward his return, while narrowing the district court order's use of the word "effectuate."
