Harvard Poll Finds 42% of Young Americans Struggle Financially

The Harvard Institute of Politics released its 50th Youth Poll on April 23, 2025, finding that 42% of Americans aged 18 to 29 reported either struggling to make ends meet or having only limited financial security. Only 16% described themselves as doing well financially. Director of Polling John Della Volpe noted that trust in federal institutions had declined alongside civic participation metrics, reflecting mounting economic and democratic strain on the generation.
