Obama signs Iran nuclear deal capping uranium enrichment below 4%
The United States and five world powers reached the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran on July 14, 2015, capping Iranian uranium enrichment at 3.67 percent and reducing its centrifuge stockpile by two-thirds. In exchange, the United States and European Union agreed to lift nuclear-related sanctions. The deal included International Atomic Energy Agency inspections of Iranian nuclear sites and was reached without requiring Senate ratification, using executive agreement authority.
