Judge Amy Berman Jackson issues preliminary injunction blocking CFPB layoffs
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson granted the National Treasury Employees Union a preliminary injunction blocking acting CFPB director Russell Vought from carrying out a reduction in force at the bureau. The ruling required CFPB to reinstate fired probationary employees, preserve records, and resume statutorily mandated work. Jackson wrote the court could not stand by while CFPB risked dissolution before the case concluded.
