Trump signs EO 14163, suspending U.S. Refugee Admissions Program
President Trump signed Executive Order 14163, "Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program," on his first day back in office. The order suspended all refugee admissions and canceled travel for approximately 12,000 refugees who had completed full vetting and had confirmed departure dates. The State Department also suspended cooperative agreements with the nine national resettlement agencies the same day, immediately cutting off federal funding for integration services.
