VA secretary expands MISSION Act privatization and cuts mental health services

VA Secretary Doug Collins announced an expansion of MISSION Act community care referrals, routing more veterans to private providers while simultaneously reducing staffing at VA mental health clinics. The policy shift cut approximately 1,000 VA mental health positions through a combination of buyouts and reassignments.
