Federal authorities arrested Ryan Stephen Samsel, then 37, of Pennsylvania, in a Pennsylvania Jan. 6 Capitol breach case. The case involved civil disorder, assaulting or impeding officers with a dangerous weapon, restricted-building entry with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, physical violence, and obstruction. NPR records that Samsel later was found guilty on eight charges after a bench trial. The court later dismissed the obstruction charge.
