Federal Judge Orders 615 People Arrested in Illinois Immigration Crackdown Granted Bond by Nov. 21

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Cummings (N.D. Illinois) ordered the Trump administration on Nov. 12–13, 2025 to release or grant bond to 615 people arrested in Chicago-area immigration raids between June 11 and Oct. 7, ruling the arrests likely violated the Castañon Nava consent decree governing warrantless civil immigration arrests. Thirteen people were to be fully released immediately; others placed on $1,500 bond with alternatives to detention monitoring by Nov. 21.
