The Department of Justice charged U.S. Army Special Forces Master Sergeant Gannon Ken Van Dyke on April 23, 2026 with commodities fraud, wire fraud, and theft of nonpublic government information. Van Dyke allegedly used classified foreknowledge of the Maduro capture raid to place 13 bets on Polymarket totaling $33,000 between December 27, 2025 and January 2, 2026, winning nearly $410,000. He subsequently asked Polymarket to delete his account to conceal his identity.
