Bisignano's Social Security Administration reverses anti-fraud phone check after it flags two of more than 110,000 callers

The Social Security Administration reversed an anti-fraud AI check on its national 1-800 number in mid-May 2025, about a month after adding it. The tool flagged about two of more than 110,000 calls as likely fraudulent and slowed retirement claims by about 25%. The agency had installed it after DOGE and White House officials claimed widespread phone fraud.
