ICE agent fatally shoots U.S. citizen Renée Good during Minneapolis raid

ICE agent Jonathan Ross fatally shot Renée Nicole Good, 37, a U.S. citizen, during an immigration enforcement operation in south Minneapolis on January 7, 2026. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin immediately issued coordinated statements calling the shooting self-defense and characterizing Good as having committed "domestic terrorism" by allegedly attempting to ram agents. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey publicly called the DHS account "bullshit" after reviewing video footage, and Minnesota officials said the video did not support the imminent-threat narrative.
