Clinton signs Workforce Investment Act reauthorizing Job Corps
President Bill Clinton signed Public Law 105-220, the Workforce Investment Act, on August 7, 1998. The Senate passed the bill 91-7 in May 1998 and the House 343-60. WIA repealed the Job Training Partnership Act, reauthorized Job Corps under Title I, and raised funding from $937 million (1992) to $1.246 billion (1998).
