Federal authorities arrest Craig Michael Bingert in a Pennsylvania Jan. 6 case

Federal authorities arrested Craig Michael Bingert, then 29, of Slatington, in a Pennsylvania Jan. 6 Capitol breach case. The case involved obstruction, assaulting or impeding officers, civil disorder, restricted-building entry, disorderly conduct, and physical violence on Capitol grounds. NPR records that Bingert later was found guilty on all charges in a bench trial. He was sentenced on September 26, 2023 to 96 months in prison, 36 months of supervised release, $2,000 in restitution, a $2,000 fine, and a $385 assessment.
