USA FREEDOM Act reforms NSA surveillance after Snowden

Congress passed the USA FREEDOM Act, ending the NSA bulk collection of phone records and requiring more transparency and oversight of surveillance programs. The law responded to Edward Snowden’s revelations and represented the first major reform of post-9/11 surveillance powers.
