Abbott signs Texas law restricting classroom discussions of racism

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed HB3979, limiting how teachers discuss racism, current events, and U.S. history. The law became a major state example of the Republican campaign to restrict race-conscious education after 2020's racial-justice protests.
