Biden administration launches CHNV humanitarian parole program for Cubans Haitians Nicaraguans

The Biden administration launches the Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela (CHNV) Humanitarian Parole program, requiring applicants to submit biometric data through CBP One. Venezuela's program launches first in October 2022. Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua are added in January 2023. Under CHNV, up to 30,000 nationals per month from these four countries can fly to the US and receive two-year parole status. The program is designed to deter dangerous border crossings and irregular migration.
