Israel strikes Minzadehei covert nuclear weapons development site and Lavisan-Mojdeh SPND laboratory outside Tehran

On March 3, 2026, Israel conducted precision strikes on two covert nuclear weapons development facilities: the Minzadehei underground site northeast of Tehran, where Israeli intelligence assessed Iran was secretly developing a key nuclear weapons component, and the Lavisan 2/Mojdeh complex housing laboratories operated by SPND — the administrative arm of Iran's nuclear weapons program. The Institute for Science and International Security confirmed satellite imagery showing damage at both sites. Israel publicly acknowledged the Minzadehei strike as targeting a facility for nuclear weapons development, the most direct confirmation yet of Israeli strikes on weaponization infrastructure.
