Trump signs mass deportation executive order on his first day back in office

President Trump signed an executive order titled Protecting the American People Against Invasion on his first day back in office, establishing mass deportation as official administration policy. The order directed DHS to expand expedited removal nationwide to any noncitizen present for under two years, rescinded Biden-era enforcement restrictions near schools and churches, and directed the military to support deportation operations. ICE conducted 2,253 deportation flights to 79 countries in the first year, a 46% increase over the prior year.
