Pentagon Civilian Protection Center of Excellence Becomes Operational

The Civilian Protection Center of Excellence achieved initial operational capability on April 5, 2023, five months ahead of the CHMR-AP deadline. The Army hired a full-time director and established offices in the Pentagon and Crystal City with an initial core staff of 30 civilian personnel. The CP CoE was designed to serve as the hub for Department-wide analysis, training, and best practices for civilian harm mitigation across all combatant commands.
