Rep. Massie files Epstein Files Transparency Act discharge petition

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) filed a discharge petition on Sept. 2, 2025, the first day the House returned from August recess, to force a floor vote on H.R. 4405 — the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The petition required 218 signatures from the full 435-member House to bypass Speaker Johnson and the Rules Committee. Massie partnered with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) as co-sponsor.
