Iran announces end of all JCPOA uranium enrichment limits following Soleimani killing
Two days after the U.S. drone killing of Qasem Soleimani, Iran announces it will no longer observe any of the JCPOA's limits on uranium enrichment, including limits on the number of centrifuges, level of enrichment, stockpile size, and research and development. Iran says the decision is a response to the assassination, which it calls a U.S. act of terrorism. IAEA inspectors remain in the country but Iran begins blocking some access. European signatories activate the JCPOA dispute resolution mechanism.
