Microsoft names community opposition a business risk in SEC filing

Microsoft told investors in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it faces community opposition, local moratoriums, and hyper-local dissent that could delay its data center buildout, a notable acknowledgment from a major tech company. Weeks earlier the company had canceled a planned data center in Caledonia, Wisconsin after about 40 residents objected at a village plan commission meeting.
