IAEA issues final pre-Trump report confirming Iran's full JCPOA compliance
The International Atomic Energy Agency issued its final quarterly verification report in November 2016 confirming Iran's full compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The report verified that Iran had reduced its uranium enrichment capacity, converted its Arak heavy water reactor, and accepted enhanced IAEA inspection access as required by the agreement. The report established the compliance baseline that the Trump administration would use when evaluating whether to withdraw from the JCPOA, which it did in May 2018.
