Fani Willis opens the Fulton County investigation into 2020 election interference
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis opened a criminal investigation in February 2021 into efforts to overturn Georgia's 2020 presidential result, prompted in part by Trump's Jan. 2, 2021 call asking Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find 11,780 votes. The inquiry would grow into a special purpose grand jury that heard from more than 75 witnesses.
