Trump order claims to end federal censorship

On his first day back in office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order titled “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship.” The order framed the federal government as having violated Americans’ speech rights through pressure on online platforms, creating the baseline claim against which later Trump administration actions on media access, campus speech, immigration dissent, and federal-worker leaks can be measured.
