Oslo I Accord signed on White House lawn

Israel and the PLO signed the Oslo I Accord, creating mutual recognition and a framework for Palestinian self-government. Oslo produced the Palestinian Authority and a phased process but left Jerusalem, refugees, settlements, borders, and security unresolved.
