Attentive Energy wins New York Bight offshore wind lease for record $795 million bid

TotalEnergies subsidiary Attentive Energy LLC won lease OCS-A 0538 covering 84,332 acres of federal ocean floor 47 miles off New York's coast on March 1, 2022, paying $795 million -- the highest single bid in U.S. offshore wind auction history at the time. The BOEM New York Bight auction awarded six leases totaling over $4.37 billion. The lease, executed May 1, 2022, authorized Attentive Energy to develop offshore wind projects to deliver power to New York and New Jersey under state contracts.
