Trump campaign organizes fake electoral certificates in 7 states

On December 14, 2020, Trump campaign attorneys organized self-proclaimed Republican electors in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, and New Mexico to sign and submit fraudulent electoral certificates claiming Trump had won those states. Attorney Kenneth Chesebro designed the scheme in legal memos; Rudy Giuliani and the Trump campaign coordinated execution across all seven states with RNC and state party support. No state legislature had certified an alternate slate of electors, and the White House Counsel's Office had concluded the plan was not legally sound. The January 6 Committee and Special Counsel Jack Smith both identified Trump as personally driving the plan from at least December 7, 2020.
