Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman charged with foreign-donor and straw-donor scheme
SDNY prosecutors charged Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman in October 2019 with using straw donations and concealing foreign-connected money to gain political access. DOJ alleged their donations advanced the interests of at least one Ukrainian government official. Both men were associates of Rudy Giuliani who assisted his efforts to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden. Parnas later provided documentary evidence to the House impeachment inquiry.
