OSC finds Kellyanne Conway repeatedly violated Hatch Act, recommends removal

The Office of Special Counsel concluded on June 13, 2019 that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway had repeatedly violated the Hatch Act by using official media appearances and social media to advocate for or against federal candidates, most prominently during the 2017 Alabama Senate race and the 2020 election cycle. OSC formally recommended Conway's removal from federal service — an unprecedented recommendation for a senior White House official. Trump declined to remove her and she remained in her position.
