Trump Organization convicted on all 17 counts in criminal tax fraud trial

A Manhattan jury convicted both Trump Organization entities -- The Trump Corporation and Trump Payroll Corporation -- on December 6, 2022 on all 17 counts in a criminal tax fraud trial. The convictions related to a long-running scheme to provide executives with unreported off-the-books compensation. In January 2023, Judge Juan Merchan sentenced the entities to the maximum allowed fine of $1.61 million, marking the first criminal conviction of a Trump business entity.
